Today we had a Dell Inspiron 5521 laptop come in for repair. This particular unit belongs to one of our local clients right here in Cary, North Carolina.
The laptop would not turn on. Our free diagnostics revealed that the unit needed a laptop motherboard replacement.
Any time a laptop needs a motherboard replaced we give our customers a full list of options. In this particular case the options were:
- Do nothing, take the unit home.
- Back up the data to a flash drive.
- Take the hard drive and put it in an external enclosure for use as a backup drive.
- Replace the motherboard.
They opted to repair the laptop.
