MacBook White Screen of Death Repair

Sometimes Macbook, Macbook Pro, and Macbook Air notebooks (and Mac Minis) turn on to what people describe as a blank screen, or a white screen. This is known as the “white screen of death”.

It sounds terrible enough… Death? Is your computer…. Dead?! While it could be a system failure this is usually a bad hard drive, or a drive missing boot files.

We have seen this white screen of death on numerous occasions on numerous Mac and Apple products. Before getting overcharged for a hard drive replacement or an overpriced data recovery, the best thing you can do it get your computer here for a free diagnostic. That way, we can tell you precisely what has gone wrong. This will allow you to make an educated decision on how to proceed.

Replacing the hard drive on a Mac is easy on some models, and more difficult on others. If you have your restore disk or pen drive available that came with the unit, please bring that with you, or include it with your machine when shipping it in.

Recovering data from a Mac is an entirely different story. Full details on these options are available here on our data recovery page. Details on our other Apple repair services are on our MacBook repair page.
