IMPORTANT NOTICE from the NC Department of Revenue: AUGUST SALES TAX HOLIDAY REPEALED
Effective July 1, 2014, N.C. Gen Stat. § 105-164.13C, which provided a sales tax holiday for the first weekend in August, is repealed . This used to allow for certain clothing, school supplies and computers to be sold without sales tax. It was commonly known as “Back-to-school” Sales Tax free weekend.
Sorry but from 2014 and after – this tax free holiday has been canceled.
