On YouTube there are several Hoverboard Tricks style videos popping up. Unfortunately, on some models these tricks lead to damage and you will end up needing a Hoverboard repair.
Problems resulting from doing hoverboard tricks vary but the most common problems are damaged motherboard. In many cases a screw comes loose inside the scooter and starts flopping around inside. We recently read about a Mini Segway which had this problem. The loose screw landed on the motherboard and shorted it out.
Of course, everyone has heard of Hoverboard fires. Cheaply manufactured batteries can short and then become extremely hot. These hot batteries can rupture and catch on fire and even explode.
