A few people seem to think this is some sort of takeoff on Apple’s iPod because it has an accelerometer. However, Google has made clear they are just showing off the power of CSS3. A barrel roll is an aerial technique used since 1913. And if you have played the 90’s Star Fox, you remember the term “Do a barrel roll”. Accelerometers are nothing new to computers either. For example, some ThinkPad laptops have had them since 2003.
Now don’t just sit there, go do a barrel roll!
