An Acer came in this week for a jack repair. The area the jack mounted to was burned up so we had to do a little modification as seen in this picture.
We have had many of the Gateway 6000 models including 6000GZ & MX6000 series come in over the years. We’ve always just repaired them like any other laptop, however, it has come to our attention that the problems with these laptops are very widespread and a lot of places are telling people that they have a bad motherboard. These do require some additional work which we throw in with our standard power jack repair service. Just replacing the jack on many of these will NOT fix your power issues, especially on the MT6*** models.

Recently an MSI CR700 come in this week that would not power on. During our free diagnostic we discovered the machine had a broken power jack.
