We took in a HP PL4260N 42″ Plasma TV recently. The TV would power on then back of quickly with no display. Some research online revealed that almost all of these TVs failed with the same problem. Knowing we were in luck we researched the information further. We replaced the IC chip on both the Y Sustain & Z Sustain boards, put it back together and the TV powered right on!
We decided to take this home for further observation.

We took care of this for a neighbor of ours. He had stepped on his Garmin Nuvi 250 GPS. We soldered the port back into place. Below is a picture of the control board that was in it.

An Acer came in this week for a jack repair. The area the jack mounted to was burned up so we had to do a little modification as seen in this picture.

We had a Dell LCD (model E198FPf) come in today. The customer did not want it any more and they gave it to us. For giggles we opened it, and as suspected, it had bad capacitors. We replaced them and the LCD is up and running again.

This is what to do if your Dell Inspiron 1525 stops recognizing AC adapters.
We get a lot of them in and the power going in from the center pin is not making it to the part of the board where it should be.
We take a wire and run it from the center of the jack over to pin 5 on the connector.

We can not repair ALL boards but this one looked promising and interesting. The board just had a fried chip. Easy enough you would think, but, the part is no longer manufactured. After much research we located the part, got it in, repaired the circuit board and sent it back. the backhoe lives again!

This is a unique DVD player is it is “region free”. He had read online that it gets a bad capacitor. This is related to the bad capacitors that plagued many electronics over the last few years. He had read about our custom soldering jobs online. We stock the needed capacitor and repaired his DVD player. The DVD player isn’t worth a whole lot so we ended up charging him 1hr labor. The DVD player works and the customer was happy.
