Westinghouse NB-14W2 Shut Off problem

Westinghouse NB-14W2 laptop shut-off problem:

We have now seen a few of these Westinghouse laptops that will just randomly shut off. We narrowed it down to the motherboard. The motherboard gets some strange problem and it will suddenly shut off. Seems to be a common problem with this specific model. Replacement motherboards are not available.

My CPU fan stopped working for this unit and I am searching for just the heatsink. My unit is just overheating and the shuts down. Wait until it cools off and then it will work for another 10 mins before shutting down again. Do you still have the broken units on hand?

We do not have any on hand. The best chance of finding this part would be on eBay, but cross your fingers if you buy one there.

I have one of these units that shuts off. Shame it was a nice little PC for bebopping around with. Has alot of features, slots, drives, graphics, etc, and a decent screen for a sub notebook. I think this might have been a onetime shot for this laptop with the Westinghouse name on it. They only sold at Tiger Direct and Walmart to the best of my knowledge. If someone wants to buy mine for parts, email me automatically by adding a follow up comment to this thread.

I might try to fix it though. Are you certain it's the MB and not related to the power supply?

Yes, it is the motherboard.
