NC DAAS Laptop Lost

Dragging a laptop all the way to Georgia filled with people's personal information is completely unacceptable.

What is even worse is not having the data encrypted when the technology has existed since the 20th century.

From a technical point of view, you'd almost have to intentionally go out of your way to lose data like this.

Anyways, this particular incident was not as bad as some of them that you hear about.

DHHS is now losing laptops, too. More unencrypted data out there. The article says that the state requires data to be encrypted but NONE of the laptops had encrypted drives.

What good are the rules if NOBODY follows them and nobody gets in trouble?
