Swollen batteries affecting 17-inch MacBook Pros too?

He claims that he was watching a movie on his 17-inch MacBook Pro (core duo) when it suddenly shut off. This happened twice before, only this time with a notable difference: his battery was fit to burst.

Hi! first of all sorry to bother, I've been reading your blog and you have a lot of experience with the Compaq Presario 700 model. I'm from Argentina, Buenos Aires, South America and Compaq/HP told me that they won't repair my notebook because they don't have spare parts (or maybe don't want). My problem is that after a couple of minutes that the notebook is powered on, it starts changing colors in different ways in differents parts of the display. I've connected the video output to an external monitor and the problem continues, so I think it could be an internal cable. I'd appreciate very much if you can let me know from your experience which could be the problem and what spare part is needed, then I'll try to find the spare somewhere. Thanks in advance and sorry for sending a question in this way.

The integrated video chip on your motherboard is bad.
