NO-1802.COM on a T41

Today we used NO-1802.COM succesfully on an IBM ThinkPad T41.

The newer ThinkPad laptops have a MiniPCI slot which only accepts certain cards sold by IBM. Using the NO-1802 registry hack allows the ThinkPad to use any Wireless MiniPCI card.

The T41 is a little tricky because you need to create a bootable CD to boot from in order to run NO-1802.

  • I've got a R40-27229BM. Just brought a Intel 2200BG mPCI wireless card from IBM and it doesn't work. I am gonna try no-1802.com. Just feel unsafe, do you know that whether this cracking programe may kill my laptop?
    Please, thanks.

  • We have succesfully used it on an R40.

We can not recommend you use it or make any guarantees.

We can say we have seen it used on sevral ThinkPad laptops and have never seen a problem.

  • I used no-1802.com on my TP R51 2887-W1R. I did fix the wireless card issue, but I can't run my notebook of my battery any more!!!!!
I have to have my TP hooked to the AC adaptor all the time.

I tried every possible thing to solve the problem but I couldn't.
I flashed the bios to the latest version as well the embedded controllers.

any other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Note on above post: The NO-1802 hack will NOT cause the battery to stop working on an R51.

  • Note: You can "undo" your no-1802 simply by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes.

  • Note re: R40:
We have used no-1802 on R40, T40, R50 and several other models with no problem, ever. (Until the CMOS battery dies that is...)
